We strive for sustainable solutions from project development to operation of our sites.
Renewable electricity
We utilise renewable electricity from Lumme Energia, which means electricity does not cause emissions.
Heating
We are obtaining zero-emission district heating from Helen Oy for all our properties.
Paperless customer journey
From booking to check-out our customer journey is digital. Booking can be made online, pre-arrival communication is sent via email and check-in takes place on self-check-in kiosk reducing paper consumption overall.
Staff uniforms
Our site staff is wearing uniforms produced by Pure Waste, a Finnish company breaking new ground in textile recycling. They manufacture and sell yarns, fabrics and garments made from 100% recycled materials.
Chemical free cleaning
Since spring 2022, the main cleaning product on our sites has been ozonated water. Chemicals are only used for occasional deep cleaning, such as descaling.
Recycling
All our sites have recycling bins for plastic, glass, paper, cardboard, metal, bio and mixed waste. Additionally there are bins on common areas for cans and bottles.
Sustainable stay | Visit Helsinki
All our sites in Helsinki are part of the Sustainable stay program of Visit Helsinki. The program features Helsinki’s accommodation providers who have proved to pay attention to environmental aspects, such as energy and water consumption, as well as reducing food waste in their restaurants.
Wash with care
We use Finnish SEES products in our short stay studios. These ICADA Natural certified products are genuinely natural, skin-friendly and responsibly made. The certification supports both our sustainability goals and the principles of the Green Key program. The same environmentally responsible approach applies to the dishwashing detergents we use.
Certified buildings
All our new sites operate, or will operate in LEED Gold or higher certified buildings. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is the most widely used green building rating system in the world.
Few of our buildings are BREEAM in-use Excellent -certified: – Noli Myyrmäki Excellent 73,6 % – Noli Sörnäinen Excellent 70,2 % – Noli Katajanokka Excellent 72,9 %
BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) is a widely used sustainability certification scheme for buildings. The main goal of BREEAM is to encourage and promote the construction of buildings that have reduced environmental impacts, are energy-efficient, and provide a healthy and comfortable environment for occupants. It assesses the building’s performance across several categories, including energy, water, materials, waste, pollution, health and well-being, management, and innovation.
Social highlights
You’re never alone with us, unless when you choose to be.
Community at the core
Offering services and spaces that support the whole community is our way of creating a sense of belonging with the surrounding neighbourhood. With the contribution of our staff and partners, we wish to give our guests room to belong.
Events & recommendations
We organize monthly events for our guests to keep the community active and easily accessable for newcomers. In addition to our communal events, we have recommendations for independent activities for those who need a push or are unaware of local offering.
Location matters
All our sites are located in immediate proximity to public transportation. This does not only reduce the need of one’s personal vehicle, but also makes it easier for our guests to enjoy their social life.
Net Promoter Score
A net promoter score is a method of using a single survey question to gauge customer satisfaction with a product. Our result from a flexible stay customer survey as year to date is: 73,3 (n=75)
Local presence
We’re open for local presence and are happy to work with other local businesses. Take Noli Myyrmäki for example, where belated opening party was organized in a form of a free-for-all outdoor event: Noli Block Party.
Sharing economy
Besides the spacious shared spaces like common kitchen and coworking rooms, there’s alot to share in our sites. Where all our sites (but Otaniemi) have shared bikes, Noli Katajanokka has a shared community car as well.
Additionally, all sites have a sharing point where our guests have a chance of leaving reusable items they no longer need.
Service stations, that can be found from most floors, serve our guests with vacuums, hair dryers, irons, ironing boards and steamers.
